Seismic Policy Consultant

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of seismic structural analysis and seismic design

Familiarity with Building Codes for various types of structures

Research and teaching background in earthquake engineering highly desirable

Duties:

Earthquake damage assessment
Identify potentially hidden damage
Formulate policies / guidelines for damage evaluation of various types of structures including R/C Shear Wall, Steel Moment Resisting Frames, Unreinforced Masonry
Formulate standard cost-effective repair methods for various types of structures subject to earthquake damage
Determine code upgrade triggers in repair of damaged facilities
Formulate policies for code upgrades
