Seismic Risk Consultant

Requirements:

• Research Background in Earthquake Engineering 
• MS in Civil / Structural Engineering; PhD highly desirable
• In-depth knowledge of seismic risk, hazard & reliability analysis 
• Familiarity with seismic structural analysis and seismic design
• Familiarity with Building Codes seismic zoning 
• Teaching background in earthquake engineering highly desirable
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Duties:

• Regional seismic hazard mapping
• Seismic risk analysis for specified structural types in an earthquake damaged region 
• Cost-Benefit analysis of seismic mitigation measures
• Use of HAZUS and other schemes to evaluate multiple-risk of damage in a given region
• Formulate policies for seismic mitigation and seismic upgrades
